how many carbs should a diabetic woman have per meal

I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. Then I found a diabetes website http://www.wellhealthplans.com/diabetestreatmentvideo I read that article from end to end because everything the writer was saying made absolute sense. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

UPDATE: Had my first meeting with my Endo since I was diagnosed just before the COVID-19 shut down. Based on my blood work I am an Atypical Type 2. Not overweight, no history of obesity, active and fit most of my life, my cholesterol is only mildly elevated, and most of it is HDL, the good stuff. I have low normal triglycerides with only mildly elevated LDL. Likely from the processed foods I tend to eat for lunch when things get too busy with work. I’ve already removed those …from my diet a few months ago, so we’ll see what the next blood work says. My Endo is now on-board with the Libre and Eating to the Meter as my game plan. She has how many carbs should a diabetic woman have per meal encouraged me to keep track of my A1C and will put in an order for blood work that I can have done as I feel the need. And she is good with my plan to get down to my medical school weight which was low on the range for my height and build. I have already lost 10 lbs since diagnosis and have decreased my body fat percentage to 26%. The Down side, she is unconcerned with why I have diabetes with no risk factors other than family history, and couldn’t care less if this is genetic and may have been passed along to my niece. I called my primary care Dr’s office. Her RNP will be calling me tomorrow to arrange for testing for MODY variant genes. If I’m negative that would spare my sisters, and niece unnecessary blood work. Still pissed off that I did everything right and still ended up with stupid diabetes. VERY relieved hat it’s type 2 and how many carbs should a diabetic woman have per meal I have a good chance of beating this into remission! And I want to thank everybody in this group for being here. The support has been what kept me from being very depressed about this over the past 3 months.

So I’ve literally never gone backpacking except for summer camp, and let’s face it it’s a climb. I think at this rate my checklist involves so much low supplies I might actually run high (not that I want to be at 20mmol/L, cuz that brings its diabetic food exchange list own problems). I think what bothers me most is most everyone who knows me just assumes I’m going t
