I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

to gain weight add healthy fats . We use healthy fats as our lever . If hitting a weight loss stall you dial back by 5% to gain weight you start out by increasing healthy fat by 5%. Out butter on your compliant veggies, make lc cream sauce/ cheese sauce. See the health fats listed on the food list
COFFEE, you just said coffee. I NEVER have checked my sugar with just coffee. I how many carbs does a diabetic need a daySWORE I would NEVER drink coffee without SUGAR. I JOINED this group, sugar GONE. I never thought to test the coffee, 4 to 6 cups a day. First thing tomorrow I’m checking out the coffee – I have to see how bad this is. Oh Man!!

If it’s been itchy like this for over a year you need to talk to your doctor . Did you start any new meds around the time the itching started ?
no ,I keep trying skin cream for dry skin ,it don’t make it go away. Side of my knee and back upper leg ,not any rashes just an itchy spot area

If your A1c was 5 there was absolutely no reason to change your regimen. That seems wrong. With your bs a averaging 175 your A1c is going to go up. 175 is too high. How do you feel? You might need to think about changing your endo no your insulin
Was having unexpected highs that my old Dr. was confused by. He suggested this Dr. Now I am on Trulicity once a week, 23 units of Tresiba daily plus 1 unit of Novolog for every 25 points that I am above does yogurt spike blood sugar 130. Sugars have gotten worse. Waiting for Dr to call back. Just aggravating!!!
I take 32u of Tresiba and 1.8 of Victozia. A1c was 6.8. I was ecstatic because I am non-compliant I’ll be the 1st one to say it. I don’t sit and eat a whole cake but I pretty much eat what I want.
Do you mean you were diagnosed as Type 2 years ago and were diagnosed incorrect all these years or you are now Type 1.5 ( Lada ) latent autoimmune ?
It is so good you were right on top of your numbers! Mealtime insulin takes a little figuring out, but low carb makes it less work.
