I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. Then I found a diabetes website http://www.wellhealthplans.com/diabetestreatmentvideo I read that article from end to end because everything the writer was saying made absolute sense. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

How hot was it? I use humalog and when I open a new and I always leave it out of the refrigerator it stays okay for 28 days.
Also Walmart has novolin r which you can buy for $25 it’s pretty much the same thing
Oh..you can get one. You’ll just need to tell the pharmacist that you’re paying for it out of pocket. The insurance company won’t cover it.

just getting started today. Is there different carbs I should be more concerned with?
carbs are carbs…you should have a goal to stay under (a lot of us do 20 or 30 max per day…but some do 40 or 50).
Avoid any grains (breads, pasta, rice, etc), sugars and starches. Remember that veggies have carbs too, so just log what you eat into an app like Carb Manager so you can track how many carbs you’re eating and make sure you stay under your limit.
I believe this group would disagree about ‘carbs are carbs’ to the point that some carbs spike out blood sugars and damage easy kid friendly diabetic recipes our bodies, then some carbs are safe for diabetics to consume. That is what our food list is all about, it lists foods that are ‘safe’ for diabetics, or for most.
most of the foods listed are “safe” because they are low or no carb foods. I don’t think most people here would disagree with “a carb is a carb”. Is a non-starchy vegetable carb healthier than a carb from rice or pizza crust? Yes. Does it count as something less than a carb? No, it’s still a carb.
