not really . Make sure the pricker setting is on the lowest. I made the mistake of having it on middle to high and it hurt! And always to the side of your finger print area(never the middle). That helps! And you may need to squeeze to get blood out but that is better than a huge prick. And try not to use the diabetic foods that are good for you same fingers all the time. ??
