I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

I actually do a lot better levels working full time. Quarantine proved that!
It sounds like you’re new to being diabetic. If you Alex it just takes time to adapt to your new lifestyle. Things have changed and as a result, you have to do things you’ve never done before. So it feels like a lot. In actuality, as you keep at it it’ll become second nature ????
It just becomes life. I work a full time rotating roster as a nurse, do roughly one overtime shift a week, go to the gym at least foods to reduce risk of diabetes twice a week and eat a fairly balanced diet. Low carb makes it easier to control my sugars and a meal prep a few days in a
dvance. When I am eating low carb, I don’t get highs and super lows, i generally just cruise, which means I don’t get rebounds. Whenever you have a high or a low your body uses more energy and you fatigue faster. It’s all a balancing act. I have off days like everyone, but every day is new day. Good luck.
I work fulltime to in a busy shop and have my salon to …its not easy.., but getting diabetic meals to lose weight used to it .. with the libre freestyle i can anticípate on a hypo… its getting used to it…?
Take it one step at a time though – don’t try to achieve everything at once! X
Find a way. Have people that depend on me. You can only handle what you have if blood sugar high know your calculations don’t over correct. Carb count. It’s a science.
I find it helps having a full time job! The routine makes it much easier for me and my pump to predict and plan. It’s all this being stuck at home stuff that had made my every day care more work
You just have to. My diabetes doesn’t really stop me from doing anything I want to do – as far as work goes, I haven’t lost a day due to my diabetes with the exception of when I was diagnosed ??????
Diabetes itself shouldn’t be a barrier to working foods to reduce risk of diabetes and career progression easy diabetic salad recipes unless you let it limit you.
I do everything I used to do after my diagnosis. Including working a full time job and a part time job as well as being a single parent. I’m exhausted often, but I was always exhausted before.
I have only had T1D going on 9 years, and I haven’t changed anything that I do. You can’t let diabetes define who you are. You are not diabetes you have diabetes.
I have to plan everything out ahead of time. I work full time, workout 5-6 days a week, two kids… it is manageable but I don’t get a lot of down time
For starters I have the same thing for breakfast…2 eggs, 1/2 eng muffin. I have to take my lunch to work…usually home made soup…dinner…anything I make for the family but skip the pot, rice, bread, etc.
