I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. Then I found a diabetes website http://www.wellhealthplans.com/diabetestreatmentvideo I read that article from end to end because everything the writer was saying made absolute sense. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods
antly pricking my fingers and giving myself shots.Last year I discovered the libre and omnipod, let’s just say that was the best thing ever invented!
It is a roller diabetic food in marathi coaster. The constant checking and second guessing ?????? The pump and sensor have been so helpful. Keep doing what you ?? and give yourself grace.
You need to speak to his doctor. As a T1 he needs insulin to live.
Good questions, still in “honeymoon phase” here too, taking only lantus at night n minimizing my carb intake, staying active. From what i food to eat to avoid diabetes understand, our autoimmune cells eat the beta/insulin created by the pancreas, however, i’ve bee told mine also still creates beta/insulin that contributes to “honeymoon”, but i dont believe it 100%…Following… good luck to u n ur son!
No it’s positive approach, what Ayurveda says if u will give insulin to your body the body will get a signal that B cell no more required and they will stop functioning. But I am not saying stop taking insulin in your food to take to control diabetes honeymoon period but let body decide whether it require external help or not . Till the time it’s doing it’s job pls take a back step and let they do its job
And I am monitoring his sugar regularly 6 times a day and my educator have asked me to give only lantus 4 unit but me still in two mind
Consult with PEDIATRIC diabetes endologist as kids are a different breed. What are his sugars food to eat to avoid diabetes running at rising and post meals without the meds?
Chrck and record BG readings and report them yo your doctor.
He definitely needs insulin. You need to work with your Endo to figure out the right doses. Maybe less at each meal. But not nothing. Do you have a pediatric Endo?
One thing they never told me at diagnosis and had me on stupid set doses..all depends on what you’re eating!
I was on set doses for the first 3-6 months too. Then my endo wanted me to start counting carbs and then a different insulin to carb ratio for breakfast and then a different one for dinner. It seemed like there was always something new the first year. And eating out was always a guessing game and how foods with fats were a different story!
I went through the honeymoon phase too, back in 1975 when I was diagnosed and put on insulin. I remember clearly my doc food to eat to avoid diabetes saying, This is temporary, don’t get excited, you’re going to be taking insulin the rest of your life. And I still am.
I believe I would do exactly what the doctor says, unless you are a diabetic doctor.
Call your dr ASAP. Only your doctor should answer these questions and discuss medication changes. You shouldn’t stop/change meds with consultation from your medical professional.
If it were me I’d follow doc’s directions or get a pediatric diabetes specialist. I would not take a child off all insulin if he had a BG of 900.
Please, it is just so important to follow specialist advice, back in my day there was little knowledge being diagnosed at age 2 in 1958, but what little we did have has enabled me to see out now 62 diaversaries. Stay safe and contact if needed here
