I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. Then I found a diabetes website http://www.wellhealthplans.com/diabetestreatmentvideo I read that article from end to end because everything the writer was saying made absolute sense. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods
live this every single day for 37 years, I think I know what I’m doing!! ??
Can you make it shareable so we can share it to those who need it? Thanks
No, Worcester Massachusetts 🙂 But I have a lot of friends who were originally from Canada.
Yes, I have no auto-antibodies. At least not GAD type. She did not order a full panel.
That was require…not rewire. I have a bad case of auto-incorrect!
Did the endo test for auto antibodies? I was atypical when first diagnosed but the endo tested for auto antibodies and found that I am type 1.5 LADA.
Also, my C-Peptide is within normals on a fast. Low end, but normal. I know that doesn’t rule out LADA in and of itself.
Get food to eat by diabetes patient tested for antibodies. I would venture to sat say you are T1 or T1.5
Tested for GAD already. Negative. If my primary wants to do the full panel I am up for it. Bt I would like the MODY genetic testing done. My Mom and aunt fit the criteria for MODY 5 but they died just a few years before there was a genetic test for it.
My dd GAD was negative as well. She only tested positive for one autoantibody. If you are T1…it will be ok. You will be ok! Knowledge is power!
The lows I experience make me think I could still be Type 1.5. But if I was Type 1 I wouldn’t be making as much insulin as I am. Phase 2 insulin kicks in strong and hard. Phase one weird…a surge about 10 minutes after I eat then very sluggish so I get a drop then a rise every time!
Yes you could be. Some t1s go thru periods of almost no insulin use…honeymooning. My dd is 6 mos out. She most likely was honeymooning for 9-10 mos before dx.
MODY type also effects how the body will respond to different treatments, what kind of complications of disease are more likely, and likelihood of progressing to insulin dependence.
My first sign before the extreme foods good diabetic patients fatigue was that my weight was creeping up no matter what I did. I’ve always been on the thin side with little effort. I think I had not been ignored when I said something 3 years ago I might be in a better space now. My weight was still in the normal range so despite an increasing A1C it was brushed off as part of peri-menopause.
I actually went to the Endo expecting they would be starting to medicate me for Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
So I’m a fit type 2 with normal insulin production. But a huge family history of Type 2 and a few Type 1’s. I get your food to eat by diabetes patient frustration. One thing I wanted to ask… you mentioned you raised your body fat percentage. Why? Was that a doctor recommendation? And why? I’m probably about 18%.
3 of these weeks were gestational diabetes diet meal plan insulin-free! T2. I’ll take this!
