I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. Then I found a diabetes website http://www.wellhealthplans.com/diabetestreatmentvideo I read that article from end to end because everything the writer was saying made absolute sense. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

You’ll have to make sure your basal rates are food options for type 1 diabetes accurate so you don’t run too low/high while fasting.
I fast 12 hours a day from 7:30 PM until 7:30 AM. That is easiest for me because it includes my night of sleep and I am never hungry after I eat my supper.
Intermittent fasting will not cause weight loss in and of itself. You still need to be in a caloric deficit. Eat less, burn more. It makes it easier food list for diabetic gastroparesis though.
I need to look into this . I thought no way I’m type 1 diabetic my pancreas has been ?? removed . I’m on the insulin pump my a1c is 9 that’s not good I’m told .
I love doing intermittent fasting. I’m type 1 with a pump also. I finish eating by 7 PM and don’t eat again until 11 AM. It is taking off the weight and my blood sugars are better. I can’t wait to see my next HgA1C!!
WOW, hold on to that endo! IF can help a lot with both keeping blood sugars stable and insulin food options for type 1 diabetes sensitivity. I’ve been skipping breakfast, making it a 16:8 almost by mistake, for about 5 years now. It helps me a lot. Make sure to drink a lot of water if you try it out and perhaps add some electrolytes.
I eat between 10-6 or 12-6. My blood sugars have been amazing. I also try to eat low carb in my eating time but how many carbs in a day diabetic enjoy treats now and then. Latest A1C was 6.7 which is the lowest it has ever been in my adult life.
I fasted for a colonoscopy-2 1/2 days due to a mix up. Lived off Gatorade Zero the whole time-never crashed. Bs lowered and lost 3 pounds. ??
I’m T2 so I’m cautious to advise a T1. I do 16 hour fasting 3 days a week and 24 hour 2 days. I like the feeling of not being full. I’ve dropped 20 lbs that I wasn’t able just by exercise and low carb diet. I like it.
I know a couple people who had that operation done. One of them had to food options for type 1 diabetes have a liver transplant. Ans she is awfully unhealthy. Another one has trouble with keeping her blood pressure up. Unless you absolutely have to have it please don’t.
Do not have surgery if you are an emotional eater. Will not work

I work a full time job have 3 side jobs( all which are physically active), another side hustle, go to school full time online and get up and workout at 6 am everyday. You just have to make it happen
Good question. That’s why I stopped substitute teaching (other than appts and travel, it was almost full-time) at age 74.
I just make sure I have what I need at work when I did work and I have type 2 I live my life normal like everyone else.
I work 50 hours a week and I’m type 1. I just wear my dexcom and pack my food in a lunch box. It takes a little food options for type 1 diabetes diabetic food meal prep extra work but it’s doable.
Are you newly diagnosed? It takes some time to figure out. Some longer than others. Just find your rhythm and live your life! ?
I work full time and in an active job but i use a pump and its it’s great for decreasing insulin when extra busy. x
And I raised 2 sons (with spouse) and commuted. It’s possible.
