eating bread and diabetes

I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. Then I found a diabetes website http://www.wellhealthplans.com/diabetestreatmentvideo I read that article from end to end because everything the writer was saying made absolute sense. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

皁verweight” when I first got pregnant.. (I’m 5’6 and weight 198 now) I’ve only gained 5 lbs this pregnancy so far..
Is anyone taking diet recipes for diabetes mellitus iron folate tablets and has it affected their sugar testing? I’ve been prescribed iron for every second day and I noticed that if I take my iron tablet and then have breakfast, my after breakfast sugar levels are really high. I haven’t changed what I had eating bread and diabetes for breakfast, so I can only attribute it to the iron tablet. I’m gonna raise this with my doctor at my next appointment. Has anyone else experienced this?
Does portion make a difference , like for example if you eat something you normally eat but a smaller portion would that matter or you definitely have to change your whole diet up for your numbers to be with it range ?
Hey ladies! So, it has been seven years since my last baby 🙂 I will be 32 weeks Tuesday, and saw on one of the previous posts a lot of you have already packed your hospital bags, due to the chance of us GD mom’s being induced early… So my question, WHAT DO YOU PACK? What are the things we must not forget, things that are helpful…AND if you have delivered during COVID, what things do you wish you had, since its so much different now?
Sorry for the essay below, eating bread and diabetes but I’m in need of some serious positive vibes at the moment. I’m 39+2 today and I was induced on Friday morning and 48 hours later I’m still here.
I came in at 1cm but my cervix wasn’t softened yet and then I maxed out on all 6 doses of cytotec which only got me to 1.5cm but made me soften more. I then maxed out on my pitocin and stayed at 20 for 4 hours and that only got me to 2cm and my cervix is still far back and tilted. I also coul…dn’t eat and it made my level drop to 52 so they had to pause the pitocin so I could drink OJ and Have a cookie. They finally stopped the pitocin at midnight last night and they inserted a different medicine up there to sit for 12 hours to see if that helps and then we start the whole process all over again around noon.
I’m at the end of my rope. The exams make me cry every time because they eating bread and diabetes hurt so badly, my contractions hurt but I’m not far along enough for an epidural, and I know this isn’t even nearly as bad as it will get. This is my first baby and the entire pregnancy experience with COVID, GD, and now a rough inducement foods not to eat diabetes type 2 is wearing on me. Anyone else have any similar experiences?
Sorry for the rant, just need to get it out somewhere!
My dietician trying to make me feel better about having to start metformin:
“You’ve been making excellent eating bread and diabetes food choices that are perfect for growing a baby, but your whole family has type 2 diabetes, so chances are your pancreas is not a high end Cadillac, it’s more of a compact car, low-end model”.
I laughed so hard, I had to share! Hang in there to all the other mommas with a low-end model pancreas ???
I only ate 2 but omgosh I cannot wait to see what my number is after this amazingly yummy breakfast.
