diabetic gastroparesis

I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. Then I found a diabetes website http://www.wellhealthplans.com/diabetestreatmentvideo I read that article from end to end because everything the writer was saying made absolute sense. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

yeah I set an alarm, test, and then go back to bed
My doctor said I can test fasting 8-12 hours after eating, but she did say I’m taking a risk diabetic gastroparesis with getting higher numbers if I test after 10.
My doctor never gave me a time for fasting. The longer I sleep, the better my numbers are.
I use the same finger all day every foods best for diabetic person day as well and never have any issues with soreness.
I test all fingers cause of my soreness and eben my dr said not to use the same finger.
Me too!!! Id maybe do a piece of butter bread. Just 1 because it would spike me otherwise. Or a fruit like dessert
Small baked potato? Whole wheat pasta? We eat shrimp and asparagus a good bit and I’ll make a lemon/Parmesan pasta to go with it.
I’m afraid to try white potatoes yet! I had planned to go out and get some corn but that never happened lol. I think I’m gonna do some pasta!
I do great with potatoes!!! Rice, on the other hand, is a no go for me. Don’t be scared to try responsibly!!! ??
We are having steak and shrimp diabetic gastroparesis kabobs over rice tonight. I’m just going light on the rice.
We’re doing steak and asparagus as well. I’m roasting some potatoes in the oven!
I do well with the Little Potato Company microwaveable packages!
Homemade sweet potato fries or half of a baked russet potato
My go-tos lately are: quinoa, tumeric seasoned brown rice, instant mashed (I do great with instant mashed and horrible with a real regular potato ??
Sometimes when I have these issues I’ll add some wheat thins or unsweetened applesauce for carbs. ??????
I do 1/4 c sweet potato with butter and cinnamon and/or A LOT of green beans.
I find it hard at dinner sometimes too! A piece of toast, corn, potatoes, a little bit of mac and cheese, rice… also check the sauces if you foods type 2 diabetics should not eat use any with your steak.
me too girl. sometimes I end up having more carbs on snacks than what i diabetic gastroparesis have on meals because I usually eat fruit for snacks.
I would add some potatoes to that, sounds good. 🙂
I keep sliced wheat sourdough in the freezer and pull out a small slice, stick it straight in the toaster oven, and then butter it. It works well for when I don’t have a carb idea and don’t want to make a batch of something that will take me forever to get through because of small portions.
Sometimes I end up with just a piece of toast with butter
I diabetic gastroparesis always did white rice and could eat as much as I wanted with my protein and never got high numbers about 115 after an hr!??
Grilled steak and salad for us tonight. Using thousand island dressing how to lower blood sugar at home though ??
Mix cream cheese and cool whip with a little vanilla extract and fresh berries! ??
I throw in a baked potato or sweet potato if I need some carbs but haven’t planned well for it. We did steak and asparagus and baked potato yesterday.
1/2 of a large baked potato loaded, Mac and cheese, pasta salad, rice…
