I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. Then I found a diabetes website http://www.wellhealthplans.com/diabetestreatmentvideo I read that article from end to end because everything the writer was saying made absolute sense. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

hing with higher protein but maybe I’m not a good judge as snack or no snack, my numbers don’t seem to be impacted ??????
They told me I could pee before I diabetic foot ulcer check it but not to like shower or start making food or walk the dogs or do anything else.
I do it when I can remember unfortunately… I have an 8 mo old who wakes me up in the AM and I usually get up and tend to her and totally forget. My numbers are higher those days. If I wake up between 5-6:30 AM before she is up my numbers are on target, if I wake up after 6:30 AM my numbers are high.
My dietician told me just within 15 min diabetic food vegetables of waking up. I just pee and then do it.
I get up, use the rest room, brush my teeth wash my face & wash my hands then do it.
I take mine when I get out of bed and before I eat. So sometimes I lay in bed on my phone for like an hour. I’ve been doing this 15 weeks and I’ve had like 4 highs ever.
Depends. Usually I just roll over and take it, but some days like today I got up and then food for diabetes took it.
A banana would put me over, too. I can only eat a few bites of one during the day.
I get up, pee and wash my hands, drink some water and take it while I am making my coffee.
I will wake up early so it’s within 8-9 hours of my last snack, test in bed, then roll over and go back to sleep.
My doctor told me as long as it’s within the 8-10 hours I can either do it in bed or right before I eat.

I normally take my fasting sugars after I’ve done everything else in the morning like clean my bed, pack my lunch and snacks for the day, sort my son out for school, shower and get ready and then test before I eat my breakfast. I will try and get into the habit of waking up and testing straight away.
You can probably still have the banana but you should match it with good protein. But that is probably why yours was 104.
I pee and then take it. I’ve been having 100-105 and they finally put me on metformin but it’s not that bad and now my numbers are lower!
I always take mine first thing, I leave my stuff on my night stand. If I take it after a shower, it’s always gestational diabetes meals plan high.
My dietitian said within 15 minutes. Also, she told me to stay away from bananas. I can do half, but my numbers are still on the higher side. They are loaded with sugar and carbs.
Did you have any protein with the banana? I can have minimal carbs with my bedtime snack and I was told to avoid sweets and fruit at bedtime. I usually eat some crackers and nuts or a protein shake. I use the bathroom and stuff diabetic food vegetables before I test so I don’t
I basically sit up in bed, and take it immediately. Unless it’s particularly hot out and I’m all sweaty, then I wash my hands first, but it’s always within 3 minutes of waking.
