I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and put on Metformin on June 26th, 2019. I started some diabetes diet and followed it 100% for a few weeks and could not get my blood sugar to go below 140. Finally i began to panic and called my doctor, he told me to get used to it. He said I would be on metformin my whole life and eventually insulin. At that point i knew something wasn’t right and began to do a lot of research. I started the diet that day and the next morning my blood sugar was down to 100 and now i have a fasting blood sugar between Mid 70’s and the 80’s. My doctor took me off the metformin after just three week of being on this lifestyle change. I have lost over 30 pounds and 6+ inches around my waist in a month. The truth is we can get off the drugs and help myself by trying natural methods

I’ve found I can eat 2-3 slices of thinner crust pizza, sometimes I leave some crust behind with a big salad. A double cheeseburger with half the bun and fries, or the whole bun no fries. Really any salad with protein/ cheese.
Also I have no idea what zaxbys or qdoba offers so I can’t give specifics. I have almost no chain fast food near me. I just get take out from restaurants. Wings are also a good option most of the time.
Most if not all the major chains list their nutritional facts in pdf form on their website. diabetic food recipe book I think that’s where the Calorie King app pulls them from. My husband wants to support local restaurants through the pandemic but it’s usually impossible to get nutritional info and I have to guess what I can eat. The bigger chains are way easier to figure out.
I can eat a huge burrito bowl from Qudoba and my numbers be fantastic! I just take out the rice!
You could probably get subs and just take the filling out and eat it without the bread ????
You could do cooked whole chicken from grocery store too with sides for family.

I downloaded the “Cheat Day” app, and it’s been super great with helping me figure out what I can and can’t have. It’s got all of those major chains listed.
I do well with a 4/5 piece chicken tender plate with a handful of fries and 1 Zax sauce diabetic food recipe book from zaxbys.
Mine said within 5 Minutes of waking up which has been an issue. I wake up every hour and I’m never sure if that’s when I’m up up or if I’m able to go to back to sleep. Sometimes I am

I usually get up and easy recipes for diabetic diet use the bathroom and stuff and then take it. Maybe I’ll start doing it right when I’m up.
I would try more protein in your bedtime snack. I take my fasting within five minutes I would say. I leave it in the bathroom so I can take it right after I go pee in the morning
You probably need some protein to balance out the carbs in the banana before bed. I’ve found I do best if I eat about equal amounts of protein and carbs at my bedtime snack

many are advised to have it under 95. Personally, my MFM says 60-90. I couldn’t get it there on my own so I had to go on nighttime insulin .. and that still doesn’t always bring it within range. 🙁
